Class of 1995 Alumni Scholarship
Award: $1,000 

The Custer High School Class of 1995 is made up a number of different personalities and talents. Over the years, we’ve achieved an even greater number of successes and even failures – still learning along the way. Of the 70 people that graduated among us, everyone excelled in different ways. We had the student council president, homecoming queen, the basketball star, the computer techie, the valedictorian, the quiet writer, the after-school cook. There are even those of us that excelled at getting in trouble, but we won’t get too much into that. This scholarship is from us, the whole class.

With that, this scholarship is not about how many clubs have elected you president, how popular you are, or your GPA. It’s about understanding what you’ve learned and how hard you’ve worked – it’s these two things that help you achieve.

We’ve made this an essay contest. We understand that essays are difficult and we’ve done our share of complaining over having to write them. However, after consideration we decided that if this was easy, there wouldn’t be much heart to it. Most importantly, this is the best way for us to learn about you and get a sense of who you are and what you

want to achieve.

Requirements: Typed essays must be submitted in the following format – 1” margins, 12 pt font, double spaced. In the upper left corner, type your full name and permanent address and phone number. Essays must be a minimum of 1 page but no greater than 5 pages long.

 

Ideally your essay will be long enough to clearly explain your point.
